What a special spot - I picked up my first speaker pair/receiver here recently. Elton spent almost two hours with me talking with me about my music goals and sampling different combinations to make sure I had the right sound at the right price point. He made me right at home to ask even the most basic questions. It was a great experience and origin story for what has already been some excellent hardware! Another madison gem.

I enjoy the guidance of both Ben and Jim regarding a new streamer. I have been tolerating Amazon’s poor performance products far too long. I appreciate their thoughtful perspectives.

Not sure what happened with that other reviewer and the dog, but when I was in there today, the dog (a border collie puppy) was sequestered in the back. I had my son with me and he asked to see the dog. They warned me that she was very friendly and might jump up on us, but we're dog lovers and didn't mind. Once she was out and got used to us, she was much calmer. The point is, they keep the dog in back and only let her out upon request, so it's safe for those who don't like exuberant dogs. Also, I was told that having the dog there was only temporary. As for the service, these guys are awesome! I just bought a home theater receiver and surround sound speakers (not from them), but needed some quality speaker wire and banana clips. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. They looked up my system online to be sure they were recommending the right items for my home setup. In fact, they showed me that I needed a sub-woofer RCA cable I didn't know I needed. I would've driven all the way home and realized I didn't have the right cable, and then had to drive all the way back again unless they had pointed that out to me. Yes, they sell high-end stuff, but the quality and service is worth every penny. I will definitely shop here again!

It's the best! I've done business with all the others in town, and have been living in the audiophile world on and off for 40 years. My recommendation of this store and staff is enthusiastic and unequivocal. Great products and unparalleled service. Just purchased my most recent system from Univ Audio and had the pleasure of working with Elton, Steve and Ben. Thanks to all of you!

Decided it was time to upgrade my speakers, stopped by University Audio, spent an informative and delightful hour (or so) with Steve, made my choice, and am extremely satisfied with the speakers and with the attention and service received. The suggestions were tailored to my music tastes, my price range was respected, Steve was very patient with my decision-making process. I think he truly enjoyed answering every question and allowing me to listen to my final choices again and again and again. A week later I had an unrelated question about my system (not related to a purchase), and the phone consultation was thorough and helpful. They will definitely get my return business.

This is a great store for high end home audio equipment. Ben has always been exceptionally helpful. Most recently, I was looking for a better turntable. He listened to what I had to say about the qualities I like to hear in my music and was able to recommend the right products for me. He then setup a demo for me to listen to the turntable which sealed the deal.

Superb! Outstanding selection and service. Ben and Bill are not only unrivaled experts in the intricacies of everything audio, they kindly spent hours helping my father and me select a high-quality pair of speakers for our home hi-fi stereo system. To anyone in the greater Madison area (and even beyond for that matter), I would say don't even bother going to Best Buy, etc. No need. You'll have far superior, not to mention personalized service from consummate experts at University Audio. Couldn't recommend them more highly.

Great vibe, Ben was awesome. Stopped by to pick up a new pair of headphones which I discovered they unfortunately no longer carry. So if you're in the market for those, you'll have to look elsewhere. Luckily, they had a few amps left in stock and was given a great deal and some recommendations. Give them a look!
